Follow us on Facebook® Welcome!
Montessori Academy, founded in 1965, is the oldest Association Montessori International (AMI) -certified Montessori School in New Jersey. We are located on 11 acres of a former working farm in Delran Township. Our educational programs, for children from pre-school thru middle school, partner with parents to foster independence, creativity, social skills, character and moral development. Our programs also stress academic excellence as well as environmental and social awareness; all of our students, even our toddlers receive the benefit of skilled, Montessori-certified teachers. "Montessori education is a brain-based, developmental method that allows children to make creative choices in discovering people, places, and knowledge of the world. It is hands-on learning, self-expression, and collaborative play in a beautifully crafted environment of respect, peace, and joy. It is also about brain development. A skillful Montessori teacher knows what stage a child is at in their brain development and they are meeting it, and they are feeding it. The Montessori method is like education designed by a pediatric developmental neuropsychologist." says Steven Hughes Ph.D., L.P. Although this website provides you with an idea of our unique qualities, the only way to truly judge is by visiting our campus and observing classes in session. We invite you to contact us to arrange a tour. The staff and I look forward to sharing our beautiful world with you! Ellen Fox School Head “I have studied the child. I have taken what the child has given me and expressed it and that is what is called the Montessori method.” Statement of policy Montessori Academy welcomes students and employees from diverse social, economic, ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender or physical ability in the acceptance of students, consideration for financial aid or employment of personnel.
